Trina Daywood (14). Trina loves “young, hip” knitting, playing elaborate games with Ferrari, comic books, and the beach. She’s always been an aggravatingly inquisitive kid, but a happy childhood didn’t give her much to lash out at, so she’s only just discovering her ability to subvert authority. She’s motivated by wildly grand schemes that she pours all of her energy into … until she gets bored.
-
Sandy Cosmark (14). Sandy and Trina have been best friends since they were in kindergarten. Now they’re growing more and more different, but years of history ensure that they still have an uncanny grasp of each other’s hearts and minds. Sandy is practical and laid back; she tries to avoid drama. Few people realize it, but she’s got an uncanny knack for mathematical puzzles.
-
Sam Daywood (9) and Teddy Daywood (5). Sam likes football, Nintendo games, loud arguments, and being right. Teddy likes dinosaurs, all kinds of plants, large trucks, and attention. Trina is often baffled that these young boy things are related to her.
-
Ferrari Daywood (2.5). “The fourth Daywood child,” Ferrari is a beautiful and energetic Border Collie. She wishes she could spend her every waking moment chasing Frisbees and herding sheep. After sheep and Frisbee, her favorite thing is Trina, particularly how Trina smells, moves, looks, sounds, and everything she says and does.
-
Corinna Daywood (~38). Also known as “Mom.” Corinna frequently claims to have had a life of her own (about 15 years ago), but Trina, Sam, and Teddy remain skeptical.
-
Stacy Allen (15) & Alice Dibble (14). Trina’s highschool friends. Stacy is extraverted to a fault, and everyone knows who she is. Alice is her second in command. Stacy likes shopping, dancing, being school DJ, and American history. Alice … spends a lot of time by herself.
-
Reginald Hull (45). English teacher Mr. Hull is one of many reasons Trina decided to try to avoid the rest of high school.
-
Agatha Miller (25). Ms. Miller wanted to become a teacher so she could change the world, but so far, she’s been overwhelmed by too much bureaucracy, too many students, and too little time, money, and energy. Nonetheless, her science lectures are infused with excitement and worthy class discussion, and she may leave a greater impression than she knows.
-
Evaline Tourna (26). Evaline was Aggie’s college roommate. She is an exceedingly sensitive soul. Evaline tries to keep Agatha honest.
